Normal CPU temperature is preferred temp for better PC performance. In fact, if you want to maintain ideal CPU temp, you must regularly check your PC and clean it, if not the dust & debris will block the air vents in result causing high CPU temperature. If you ignore this situation then next thing which you have to face will be the sluggish computer or blue screen of death. Latest models of Intel & AMD processors have maximum CPU temperature of 100 Degree Celsius. When CPU reaches that limit, it starts throttle which decreases the performance in response lowers computer’s temperature. However, computer users must avoid this max CPU temp range at all cost in order to protect their power rigs.
Normal CPU Temp
The safe CPU temperature differ from manufacturer to manufacturer and from model to model, So it’s impossible to pinpoint a single exact number that represents the ideal CPU temperature. Typically, for a system which is healthy and have an adequate cooling system the normal CPU temp should be around 45- 65 Celsius. Although, the ambient temperature which is usually room temperature at 22- 24 degrees Celsius is considered good CPU temperature.
If computer hardware runs 10 degrees Celsius above ambient level it’s still considered to be safe CPU temp. But the problem starts when CPU hit 80 Degree Celsius, here you must take precautions and reduce load from CPU.
The two major processor manufacturers have different numbers for their CPU series. For example: Intel Core i7 series have its normal CPU temp around 50-66 °C while AMD A6 series average temperature is 45-56°C.
If you want to know how hot is too for a gaming PC, the average CPU temperature is 70-80°C and it must not exceed from that limit. Although Intel and AMD told you that their processors can handle high temperature like 100 to 110°C under load. But that’s not true because games put heavy stress on CPU and when temperature reaches above mentioned gaming limit than necessary precautions must be taken to prevent damage.
Intel Core i7 8700K is considered to be the best processor for gaming. When it is put under 100% stress its temperature goes around 79-80°C which is a good CPU temperature.
Idle CPU Temp
Before changing anything in the BIOS, putting stress on PC or doing overclocking the idle CPU temperature should remain between 30-40°C.
